I haven't been to my blog in a couple months!!! so I didn't notice your question. Ryan is now based in Camp Pendleton, California. He graduated second in his class!!! This my boy who would never turn in homework despite all my effort to "teach" him responsibility. He graduated second because he read the key wrong on one test--he knew the answers--but that, is a life lesson--you've got to get it right or live with the consequences.

Ryan was scheduled to go to Afghanistan in February, but even if nothing changed (the Administration seems unsure of what to do), he was preempted by someone of higher rank who wanted to get his turn over. Ryan thinks he will go sometime during this coming year regardless.

He seems happy and adjusted. Life is gong at a slower pace--school was unreal.

Yesterday he texted Ivan to see when my Spring Break will be so that he could clear it for a leave--my reaction was first, what does that have to do with his travel plans?? (He always heads straight over to his friends), but then I felt some warm pleasure that he might want to spend some time with me. :)
